Family seeks help after losing home in fire

KINGSTON, OK - A house near Kingston was destroyed by a fire Saturday night leaving a family of three with no place to go.

Tiffany Mize said she and her two kids barely made it out alive after she woke up to find her entire home engulfed in flames.

"I screamed to my daughter, 'Our house is on fire, grab the baby,'" Mize said.

Mize ran to get help from neighbors but it was too late.

"When I went to the door, all I could see was flames," neighbor Dru Sillamatula said.

The fire marshal has not made an official ruling on the fire but Mize thinks it may have been the porch light.

"My family's life was at stake here," Mize said. "We made it out in about forty-five seconds and it engulfed. We got to the end of the driveway here and it was already in flames."

Mize said she was in the process of purchasing home insurance when it caught fire. Now the burning memory of that night is all that is left.

The family has set up an account at the Landmark Bank in Kingston for donations. It is registered under the Mize Family Benefit Account.

Donations can also be mailed to the Landmark Bank:
