UFO Day: Alien-Themed Weddings And Out-Of-This-World Visitors (VIDEO)

Would you want aliens to touch down on your wedding day? You'd be surprised how many couples do.

In honor of UFO Day on Monday, we scoured the Internet for the best weddings where aliens played a role -- sometimes as invited guests, and sometimes not. From a ceremony at Area 51 to suspected UFO sightings at nuptials, check out these bizarre stories of weddings that brought the outer reaches of the universe a little closer to home.

• Area 51 Wedding

  Dave and Katie, a British couple, married on February 22, 2010 outside of the top-secret government facility known as Area 51 in Nevada. Area 51 is best known for the conspiracies surrounding it, namely that <a href="http://www.time.com/time/specials/packages/article/0,28804,1860871_1860876_1861006,00.html" target="_hplink"> alien research</a> is being conducted within its walls.

• Woman Marries Alien

  Leila, a woman from New Mexico, gave new meaning to the old adage, "Men are from Mars, women are from Venus," when she took a "Martian" for her husband in October 2008.

• UFO Allegedly Passes Through Royal Wedding

  More than just the whole world was watching when William and Kate tied the knot in 2011. An "unidentified flying object" reportedly made a quick trip over Westminster Abbey just hours before the two said "I do." A tourist caught the flying object on video.

• UFOs Caught By Wedding Videographer

  A videographer at a Long Beach, Calif. wedding in 2010 caught some out-of-this-world footage while filming. During the reception, some mysterious lights appeared in a circle over the city in broad daylight.

• 'Alien vs. Predator' Wedding Cake

  UK-based Little Cherry Cake Company created this "Alien vs. Predator" wedding cake <a href="http://whengeekswed.com/blog1/2012/06/09/alien-loves-predator-wedding-cake" target="_hplink">for Hollywood Bites</a>, a movie-themed cafe, in 2012.
