Al-Qaeda Monitoring Israel?s Northern Border
(Wednesday, March 6th, 2013)Israel?s Channel 10 News reports that al-Qaeda forces have taken up position several tens of meters from Israel?s northern border, for the time being, just monitoring military activity on the Israeli side. Videos released by the terrorists clearly show how they monitor the actions of Golani Brigade patrols along the border, as well as IDF fighter jets operating in S. Lebanon. They show armed fighters with shoulder launchers capable of firing anti-tank rockets along with other weapons.
For Israel?s intelligence community the situation is a worrisome one and the quiet that prevailed along the border with Syria since the October 1973 war may chas v?sholom be a thing of the past.
Israeli Ambassador to the UN Ron Prosor sent a warning to the UN Security Council that Israel cannot be expected to remain inactive in light of the increasing number of rockets fired over the border into Israel, the spillover from the ongoing civil war in Syria.
